Artsy Wednesday - Indie

I don't really own that many indie polishes, only ten. All of them contain glitter. I think I'm particularly bad at photographing glitter polishes, although I love wearing them.

Today I'm wearing two polishes from Glimmer by Erica's Rainbow Brite collection.

The milky white jelly is called Starlite Shine. I used two coats.

On my ring finger I used two coats of Punky Patty over China Glaze - Outta Bounds.

Shiny shiny goodness.....

Check out the other indie wonders from the Artsy Wednesday crew. Special mention this week for Alanna of Pretty Purple Polish, who has released her own gorgeous indie line!

Artsy Wednesday - Glitter Gradient

Wow life is busy at this time of year! Lots of parties and end of year activities happening. Work, family, kids, friends, shopping. Sometimes there just isn't time for nail fun. Last week I missed the tape manicure but I've managed to put something together for this week.

I don't think there are many nail junkies who don't like glitter. There are so many beautiful offerings from both major and independent brands.

This week I've used a black base and topped it with three polishes from Australian brand Femme Fatale. At the tips I have Hydraxia, then Glinting Lodestone and Eternium Dreams. A nice thick coat of Seche Vite gave it all a nice shine.

Glittery Goodness: Kleancolor - Sugar Coat over Butter London - Branwens Feather

I've had a tiny bottle of this gorgeous glitter polish for ages but I didn't use it very often because I didn't want it to run out. I've finally bought a full size bottle and so now I can use it to my hearts content.

Sugar Coat is a clear polish with medium hex and small iridescent glitter. Because of this iridescence Sugar Coat is very versatile. In the bottle shots you can clearly see shades of pink and purple that aren't visible in the nail shot. There are also shades of blue and green on the nail that can't be seen in the bottle. It's all about the base colour ladies. Sugar Coat will go with almost any base shade and will look a little bit different each time. Over this dark polish it has a strong gold/green/blue colour shift.

I can't wait to test it out over the Models Own pastels that are on their way to me as I write.

If you've never tried Kleancolor I would recommend that you do. There are two things to be aware of though.

One: Kleancolor has a very strong odour. If you're prone to headaches when painting your nails or have a sensitive sense of smell make sure you have more than adequate ventilation.

Two: This and the other Kleancolor polishes I've tried are very slow to dry completely. In my opinion Seche Vite is a must.

I've never seen Kleancolor in an Australian store, but I've heard you can buy them from Paddys Markets. I got mine online from Beauty Joint.

What's your favourite glitter at the moment?

Glittery Goodness: Darling Diva - Soft Kitty over Cult Nails - Manipulative

I admit it, I bought this polish partly (mostly) because I am a big fan of Big Bang Theory. However this is also a beautiful and versatile polish that looks great over a variety of base colours. It contains small and medium hex glitter in pastel shades. These are suspended in a clear base with bluish shimmer.

Today I'm wearing it over Cult Nails - Manipulative but I recently wore it over Chi Chi - Only Girl In The World. I couldn't manage to get a good picture of it then, but the glitteriness seemed much more pink then than it does here. I think I'll try it over a dark shade next.

Glittery Goodness: Lush Lacquer - Lite Brite over China Glaze - HappyGo Lucky

China Glaze - Happy Go Lucky, 2 coats with 1 coat of Lush Lacquer - Lite Brite + topcoat.

Happy go lucky really is primary yellow. It's such a cheerful colour. It also stains your nails and cuticles a little. Lite Brite is a clear base packed with glitter. There's some ?silver microglitter. Orange, blue and red hex glitter. Purple and green square glitter. Yellow and pink large hex glitter.

I added some thinner to all my Lush Lacquer bottles and I think it has really improved application.

Happy nails.

Glittery Goodness: ChiChi - Capital H.I.M. and Ulta3 - Confetti

I love glittery nails as much as the next lacquer addict.

Here is Ulta3 -Confetti, a clear topcoat with pink and blue small hex glitter over ChiChi - Capital H.I.M, a bright purple with subtle blue shimmer.

A fun combination.
